This Years Top 5 Fitness Challenges

Bobbin Head Cycle Classic

Sunday March 25th

Being promoted as a community event and not a race, this bike ride is a great opportunity to warm the muscles for the year. There are 4 distances to choose from, cycling through Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and Bobbin Head. Completely supported by volunteers, and 50% of all funds raised is given to LifeLine 🙂

Triathlon Pink

Sunday 25th April

Triathlon Pink raises money for breast cancer and is open to children aged 7-14 and ladies of all ages. Not to leave the guys out, the Fun Run Pink runs as a separate event alongside, inviting males also! A perfect introduction to the three-discipline event, the swim leg is in the pool and you don’t need a fancy racing bike.

The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon.

May 20th

Having over 10,000 participants last year, the Sydney Half Marathon is a popular endurance challenge. The 21km course takes runners through our iconic city of Sydney, starting at St. Mary’s Cathedral and finishing in Hyde Park. To prepare for this event, you can download online training guides or speak to a long distance running coach. Fundraising for a charity of your choice starts now before general entries open in February. Find out more at www.smhhalfmarathon.com.au

Oxfam Trailwalker

24-26th August

This is one of my favourite charitable fitness challenges of the year. In teams of 4, you will physically and mentally endure walking through 100km of rugged bushland over 48hrs or 50km over 24hrs. Not a walk in the park, your team will need to train together under variable conditions. Being such a long event your team will need to be prepared for first aid emergencies and weather changes as well as essential nutrition and hydration. If the event seems a little out of your fitness league this year, volunteers to help coordinate and offer support are always welcomed!

Noosa Triathlon & Multisport Festival

4th November

We’re travelling north to beautiful Noosa in Queensland to the biggest multisport festival and internationally known Olympic distance triathlon. Swim 1.5km, bike 40km and run 10km to finish 2018 with a challenge you can most certainly be proud of. Afterwards, celebrate your success by baking on the beach, cocktail in hand.

Have a fantastic and memorable year!
